Now Accepting KNU Officer Nominations

Nominations are being accepted for 2020 KNU officer positions. If you are interested in nominating yourself or a fellow neighbor for one the positions/duties below, email beautification@kesslerneighborsunited.org by October 30th. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the annual KNU General Meeting on November 21st to be held at KPUMC fellowship hall, 7pm.

KNU Executive Board positions & primary responsibilities are:

  • President – The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation and presides at all meetings of the Board. A minimum of one-year service on the Board as either an Officer or Chair of a Standing Committee required.
  • Vice-President – The Vice-President will perform the duties of the President upon his/her absence and has the primary responsibility of organizing and overseeing the Kessler Krawl and other ticketed fun-raising events.
  • Secretary – The Secretary keeps the minutes of all meetings and the Corporation’s records. This position is also responsible for organizing and managing the annual KNU Picnic.
  • Treasurer – The Treasurer has custody of all the Corporation’s funds, manages all account receivables and payables, provides expenditure and deposit receipts to the Corporation’s certified public accountant (CPA), keeps the Board up-to-date on all financial matters, and assists the Corporation’s CPA in filing an annual 501(c)(3) tax return with the Internal Revenue.

The KNU Nominations Committee will prepare the slate of candidates for announcement prior to the election in November. A guest speaker will be joining us that evening with a topic of interest to residents, so please plan to attend.

There are also a host of volunteer-driven committees that are instrumental in keeping our neighborhood up and running. Please consider serving on a committee or lend a hand when needed. Visit our Volunteer page to learn more.

The utilities are turned on & maintained, the grounds are manicured, safety concerns are remedied, beautification efforts are underway, City funding requests, co-op projects with other non-profits & grant applications are in motion behind the scenes, and special needs that arise with the changing weather (literally) get addressed, ALL because of you! It truly takes a village of resident participation, generous contributions, sweat equity and many volunteer hours, to run a village. Thank you!
