As you plan your Memorial Day weekend, here are a few area events of interest…
- Bring your family to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden at the Dallas Arboretum on May 25-27th from 9am-4pm for Memorial Day activities. Explore the science behind some of the symbols and traditions of the holiday and add red, white, and blue to the garden in exciting ways. Learn more.
- Carry The Load is a 2-day event to be held at Reverchon Park on May 26-27th, featuring music, inspirational speeches, stories of fallen heroes, flag ceremonies and more. - Memorial Day at Restland Memorial Park on May 27th from 11am-3pm, honors veterans who have fallen in the line of duty serving our country. Event highlights will include a lunch on the lawn, WWI, WWII Korea & Vietnam military exhibits, performance by the Vocal Majority, guest speaker The Honorable Collin Allred, US House of Representatives, and placement of the wreath at the Victory Memorial by American Gold Star Mothers. This is the 79th year that Restland will host Memorial Day in the Field of Honor, the oldest designated veterans burial garden in the Dallas area. For more information, click here.
- The lawn comes alive with Clyde Warren Park’s first-ever Memorial Day Music Festival. Check out performances across multiple stages throughout the day and night on May 26th, 2-10pm. Each stage will feature music from a variety of genres – rock, jazz, country and classical. Explore vendor booths, play in the family game zone and feast on food truck bites. See music itinerary.
