Boy Scouts of America’s “Girl Power”

Troop 5 and Venture Crew 5 is delighted to announce the formation of a girl-only troop starting in February 2019. The new Troop will become part of the Kessler Park United Methodist Church program of Scouting and will share the Scout Hut, van and equipment with the other two troops. The troop will have a separate outdoor program and service projects and will participate in shared skill instruction, flag ceremonies and other events.

Laura Walsh is the new Scout Master and brings years of experience from the troop, district and council level. As an active Adult Trainer, Laura understands the importance of having a program that teaches leadership skills and values.
Applications are being accepted from interested prospective female scouters. Annual dues are $65, payable with the application. Payment plans are also available. Dues cover the annual charter fee paid to Council and other expenses.

First-time applicants will receive a Troop t-shirt, Scouting handbook, and unit patches for their uniform.
Troop meetings will be held on Mondays at 7pm in the Scout Hut behind KPUMC. Contact Troop 5 Scoutmaster at bison85@aol.com.

Go girls!
